Baselworld was where watch collectors and enthusiasts first heard of the spun off of Seiko’s Grand Seiko collection into a separate and independent brand. In the modern world of watches, every independent brand marks its presence with a dedicated divers’ watch. Grand Seiko fulfilled that requirement with the introduction of the Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 36000 Professional 600m Diver’s watch at Baselworld 2017. For Seiko, this marks the debut of the first ever mechanical Grand Seiko timepiece available for divers.
