The first moon landing in history is being celebrated by Omega, and the company is doing so by going gold. The Swiss watchmaker has revealed the Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Limited Edition. It is an 18-karat gold chronograph modeled after the timepieces which was presented to astronauts following the Apollo 11 mission. This was the first watch to be worn on the moon.

“Fifty years ago, mankind took its very first steps onto the surface of the moon. The Omega Speedmaster was there, strapped to the wrists of the astronauts, and this year, we’re paying tribute to the mission’s lasting legacy”, Omega announced on its website.
