The Longines Avigation Bigeye
A sure hit for aviation enthusiasts, the Longines Avigation Bigey won the 2017 Revival Prize at the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Geneve. The Bigeye chronograph is emblematic of Longines’ penchant for bringing the full-scale beauty out of aviation, vintage watches.
The Bigeye is a recent addition to Longines’ Heritage collection, which encapsulates the design of the 1930s. It has a black dial with Super-Luminova hour markers and hands captured in rhodium. The dial registers at 9 o’clock, 12 o’clock, 5 o’clock, and a 30-minute sub dial at 3 o’clock. This is a source of the watch’s “Bigeye” name.
The timepiece also features a column wheel L688.2 calibre that beats at 28,800 bhp and has a 54-hour power reserve. Wearers will admire these designs contained in a 41mm steel case with a brown leather strap that sticks true to its aviation heritage.
