Avenger Hurricane 45 Watch from Breitling Sports Innovative Lighting Features
The first steel-made luxury watch created a new trend in watch-making when it launched in 1972. Before the debut of that watch, most watches fit either the small and cheap category, or the expensive ones exclusive to the executives and the 1% of the time. A steel-made luxury watch was a step in a new direction of watchmaking – one that saw steel-made watch production surpass the volume of watches made from precious metals.
Coming out of the labs at Breitling is the ultralight Avenger Hurricane 45 chronograph. This is the most up-to-date watch using Breitling’s Breitlight polymer. This material is a scratch-proof amalgam that is stronger than steel, yet lighter when compared to titanium. It contains a custom chronograph movement on a canvas strap made from rubber material. Wearers so far have handed out compliments such as the watch being one of the most strongest, yet lightest watches to be worn.
The Avenger comes in a 45mm frame that feels noticeably lighter than steel chronographs of a comparable size. The polymer was scratch resistant and since it is mad of plastic, can be worn by individuals with allergies to metals on skin contact.
