Andre Agassi in Manhattan for Launch of Longines Conquest VHP Collection
An ambassador of the Swiss watch brand, Longines, tennis legend Andre Agassi is in Manhattan for the launch of the Conquest V.H.P. Collection. The event wascapped off by a cocktail celebration, where Agassi was accompanied by Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President of Longines and Head of International Marketing, as well as US Brand President Pascal Savoy.
“As an athlete, precision and timing are everything,” said Agassi. “I like a real sports watch like the Conquest V.H.P. that can stand up to strong forces, like a powerful serve…. Tennis can get really physical. It’s important that a watch be built to last. You don’t want to have to worry about anything that takes away from your performance.”
The celebratoin also highlighted Longines’ 60 years of mastering quartz technology. Capelli provided a brief presentation on the various milestones in the development of the Conquest V.H.P. Pieces from the Swiss watch maker’s museum in Saint-Imier were flown in to be on display for the occasion. Some of the notable pieces included early 1950s chronometers launched by Longines to the first 194 Conquest V.H.P.
