Cartier Captured in Motion at Design Museum
Few luxury brands take care of their heritage with style and attention to detail as Cartier. Their work and craftsmanship is constantly exhibited through museums and display shows around the world. These include academic demos staged by the British Museum as well as concept shows from Milan’s Fuorisalone.
The “Cartier in Motion” show was hosted as the Design Museum in Kensington. The show was directed and curated by Norman Foster as well as museum director Dejan Sudjic. The show focuses on the surrounding folk tales and characters of the brand in addition to the watches themselves. This includes Cartier’s relationship with pioneering aviator, Alberto Santos-Dumont and Gustave Eiffel. A replica of the Demoiselle plane built by Santos-Dumont is evident of the focus of this show’s theme. Other replicas showcase cars, boats, and planes designed from Louis Cartier as well.
