Swiss watch brand, Longines, has announced a surprise move involving one of the most popular and beloved actresses in the world in Kate Winslet. The company is set to place an exclusive collection on offer at the brand’s Faubourg Saint-Honore boutique in Paris. The five-piece collection features five gold watches from the brand’s Kate Winslet series, of which three are going up for auction whose proceeds will go to the Golden Hat Foundation, a non-profit charity co-founded by the actress.

Winslet has been an ambassador for elegance for Longines since 2010. She characterizes the brand’s motto “Elegance is an attitude”. Having co-founded the Golden Hat Foundation, the actress has aimed to change the perception of individuals affected by autism. She has worked with Longines to create limited edition timepieces for the auction. She personally selected the watchcase, dial, and strap for her name-branded watch lines while on a visit to the company’s factory.

“I was given the permission to choose a watch, which was designed specifically for the Golden Hat Foundation. The style of the model really appealed to me and I instantly fell in love with it,” explained Winslet at the vent.

The Kate Winslet models from the Flagship Heritage collection are numbered 2/5, 3/5, and 4/5. They are now up for auction while the remaining two will be on display at the Longines museum in Saint-Imier. The on-line auction is being held from now through to June 30.
