Anniversaries have become moments where major watchmakers mark their new products and offerings. This year, Omega has two anniversaries accompanied by major watch line debuts. The Omega Seamaster line turns 70 years old, with the original Seamaster being released in 1948. In addition, the Seamaster Professional Diver 300M model was lanched in 1993. Celebrating these double milestones, Omega is coming out with commemorative limited editions of these watches. Two watches will feature the retro appearance of the Seamaster gents’ watch, while the third is a Diver 300M with tantalum material.

The Seamaster 1948 Small Seconds and Seamaster 1948 Central Second featured 1,948 pieces, honoring their debut year. Both watches replicate, at least in the closest fashion, the design of the original Seamaster. Upon its release following World War II, the Seamaster entered history by utilizing water-resistant technology featured in the military watches provided to British Royal Air Force personnel.

The contemporary recreations of this original watch possess 38-mm stainless steel cases, opaline domed dials, applied numerals and indices, and a retro-styled Omega logo in 18k white gold.
