Seiko Re-Introduces Mechanical Seiko 5 Watch
Contrary to commentary saying otherwise, Seiko is expected to re-introduce the mechanical Seiko 5. A recent press release from Seiko’s English website has provided proof that a new line of Seiko 5 watches are on their way and expected to hit the retailer watch market. The new Seiko 5 Sport Collection will be available in September 2019 and will feature 27 different designs across many styles. These include Sports, Suits, Specialists, Street, and Sense. Each style will have key functions and characteristics, including a day-date display, arrow-shaped minute hands, distinctive hour markers, the Automatic cal. 4R36 movement, unidirectional bezels, 41-hour power reserve, and a Hardlex crystal all encased in a 42.5mm stainless steel case back. The case provides up to 100mm of water resistance.
