TAG Heuer Monaco 1979-1989 Limited Edition

TAG Heuer is re-introducing the Monaco with a limited edition paying tribute to its beginnings between 1979 and 1989. The watch was worn by Steve McQueen in the movie Le Mans, providing a stage with the watch was evocative of the atmosphere of that decade. The Monaco captures the wild spirit of the ‘80s, sporting a sunray red dial and two rhodium-plated registers.

The Monaco Pays Tribute to a Wild Era in Racing

The re-introduced Monaco does not have the TAG Heuer branding, which is purposed to attribute the watch more closely to its original version decades earlier. The logo is positioned adjacent to the Monaco script.

Compounding a time when racers took risks in extraordinary maneuvers in rally racing and Le Mans, the ‘80s scene in racing was further augmented by the major advances in technology and power of vehicles. The limited edition Monaco features the fiery red racing dial that evokes the risk-taking that drivers of the era produced. The Monaco stands out from other edition with this racing essence.
