The Swiss watch maker Hublot has started a brand new partnership with the Dominican rebublic based premium cigar maker Arturo Fuente. In the year 2012, the two firs collaborated to make a celebrated watch release and they are working again to make a 4th watch collab for 2021. The Big Bang Unico Arturo Fuente Ceramic edition is a watch that is going to be limited to just 100 pieces and it will be a must have for cigar aficionados and watch collectors. The watch bears the namesake of Carlos Carlito Fuente Sr. who passed away in the year 2016. His son has preceded him as head of the head of the company developed this watch in close collaboration with Hublot.

The design team coordinated with the family designer Manny Iriarte and the family to get the details on the watch just right. The laser engraved pattern on the 44mm black ceramic case shows the pattern of tobacco leaves swaying in the wind. The fuente agricultural practise is on full display here and the decorative engravings are the types of symbols you might typically see on rose gold cases from 2017 ForbiddenX editions and other famous collector watches.

The big details include not only the etchings but the crowned lion that is found along the 9 o clock symbol and the openwork dial design. The lion pays tribute to the role of the company supplying cigars to the Spanish court. It is a rarity for Hublot to include family crests and details of this type in their watch design. The clock and the crest pay a tribute to the family but also their motto of “never rushing the hands of time.”

The special edition sapphire window with the initials CF create another layer of detailed tribute in this design. The quality of the watch is also impeccable with an automatic wind 28,800 VPH and a power reserve of up to 72 hours. The watch is mounted along a calf and rubber strap with a ceramic and titanium deploying clasp and a lacquered wood cabinet for a watch case.
