Casio GBM-2100 Pre-Orders, One to Look out For for this Upcoming Holiday Shopping Season

Casio has opened preorders for the GBM-2100CX-9AJR, a special edition G-Shock designed for the 2026 zodiac Year of the Horse. Built on the popular GA-B2100 platform, this model offers a more decorative interpretation of the familiar octagonal “CasiOak” design, making it a potential standout for the 2025 holiday shopping season. Preorders are currently limited to Japan through the G-Shock online store, with shipments scheduled for December 2025 at a price of ¥42,900, or about 285 dollars.

G-Shock Quality Engineering Meets New Year’s Aesthetics

The GBM-2100CX-9AJR mixes traditional New Year symbolism with modern G-Shock engineering. It features a gold-tone bezel with custom engraved artwork, gold and red dial accents, and a caseback decorated with a stylized horse inspired by the mythical Senri-uma. The watch maintains the slim profile of the 2100 series at 49.3 by 44.4 by 11.9 millimeters and weighs 72 grams. Casio uses biomass resin for both the case and band, maintaining durability while integrating more sustainable materials.

Solar and Bluetooth Integration

The model is powered by Tough Solar and includes Bluetooth connectivity for automatic time adjustment, reminders, world time settings and schedule functions via the Casio Watches app. Standard G-Shock features are present, including shock resistance, 20 ATM water resistance, a stopwatch, countdown timer, five alarms and dual LED lighting. Battery operation is estimated at around seven months under typical use or up to 18 months in power saving mode.

Casio also provides themed packaging with a black and gold box featuring the same horse motif found on the caseback. While preorders are Japan only, earlier New Year editions have reached global markets, making this a model worth watching as the holiday season approaches.
