Casio Introduces the Sauna-Friendly CPP-002 Watch

Casio is set to design its latest innovation in timekeeping, the CPP-002 watch – capable of operating in a sauna environment. Designed to endure extreme heat and humidity, this rugged timepiece is perfect for spa enthusiasts and sauna lovers who typically face limitations with traditional watches in sweltering environments.

3 Distinct Styles

The CPP-002 is set to debut on Japan’s Makuake crowdfunding platform with a campaign running from December 2. It will be available in three distinct styles: the CPP-002-OR, featuring a black, white, and orange color scheme; the sleek all-black CPP-002-BK; and the CPP-002-BU, a black and light blue model created by Casio as a collaboration with sauna platform Sauna Ikitai.

Key to its sauna-readiness is the watch’s durable design. The 35.44 mm resin body boasts low moisture permeability to resist damp environments and a heat-resistant battery with a five-year lifespan. Weighing just 24.5 grams, the watch is also equipped with a water resistance rating of 5 ATM (50 meters), ensuring reliability even in high-humidity settings.

Practical Applications in an Analog Approach

Beyond durability, the CPP-002 features an analog-style face and a unique 12-minute counter tailored for sauna use. The expandable band, inspired by locker key straps commonly found in gyms, enhances practicality and comfort.

Though pricing and launch details remain under wraps, the CPP-002 is set to attract attention as a first-of-its-kind accessory for the sauna-going community. With its stylish design and advanced functionality, Casio continues to push the boundaries of what a watch can do.
